Link Between Eczema and Asthma Discovered

A chemical produce by eczematous skin has been found to provoke asthma in mice. The chemical is called thymic stromal lymphopoietin, or TSLP.
About 60% of children with allergic skin reactions go on to develop asthma. This discovery that TSLP is involved might enable the blocking of the chemical.
