Coconut Oil For Teeth

coconut-w200-h200 You may be familiar with the wonderful properties of coconut oil. It is said by some to be the “healthiest oil on earth”.

Sue Davis says it is also great for teeth and gums. Interesting. Her full comment:

Just read your article on “coconut oil, the healthiest oil”. I’m not sure if you’re aware that coconut oil is great for descaling and whitening teeth…also for keeping your gums healthy.  Just take a table spoon of oil and swish it around in your mouth for about 15-20 mins. I know this sounds like a long time but if you squeeze and suck it between your teeth, you will be pleasantly surprised.

After 15-20 mins, spit the oil out (and all those toxins, preferably in the garden so as not to block up your sink/basin). Oil actually absorbs heavy metals in the body (it’s called oil pulling) and once you’ve rid yourself of it, you’ll find that your teeth feel cleaner and smoother…they’ll also be whiter…try it. First thing in the morning is usually the best time and be sure to brush your teeth after. Do it a few times a week….your teeth will get whiter and whiter. Would love to hear what you think.
Kindest regards
Sue

Thanks, Sue. I have just got a load of coconut oil in – to do with a project I am undertaking. I’ll try what you say.

Coconut oil is generally very good for skin and mouth. I have heard a lot about oil pulling and tried myself a few times. It works great! It even cures many ailments! – Mike

Wow! This is the second cool use for coconut oil that I have learned today. I’m going to try this! Most of my research on coconut oil has been on the internal health benefits of consuming it, but it is so good for your skin, hair, and apparently your teeth, too!
