I agree that healthy bowel flora are very important. In fact bowel flora cells outnumber human cells in the human body.

I think your most important point is to work with some kind of professional. A doctor AND a dietitian. Finding the foods or food additives that may be setting off IBS is an incredibly important step in my view.

Many skip that part, but soothing the bowel without removing the irritants is like shoveling sand against the tide in my opinion.

Probiotics can certainly help to control IBS symptoms by reducing dangerous bacteria, absorbing vitamins and nutrients and stimulating the immune system.
